It’s no secret that I’m a fan of taking your own personal branding photos –– heck, I even made a course so you can take and edit your pics at home! However, sometimes investing in a professional photoshoot pays dividends.
A combination of your own images with a few professional photos thrown in can really lift your brand presence. I could give you a million reasons why professional photography –– be that personal branding photos or a product shoot (which I do remotely) –– will benefit your brand but here are my top three!
1. Elevate Your Brand
A professional photoshoot will make you look really, REALLY good.
Not only do I know how to take a photo, but I am also a whizz when it comes to branding. I spend a lot of time researching the best branding practices and staying on top of current trends –– I also know what you want to avoid. And I bring all this knowledge –– as well as my expert eye –– to your photoshoot.
But I don’t adhere to cookie-cutter ideas or images. A good personal branding photographer will get to know you, your brand, and what you want to showcase beforehand. I’ve even jotted down some tips on how you can best prepare for your photoshoot to make sure you get the most out of it.
A professional photographer can give you unexpected angles (of yourself, literally, but also creatively), that showcase your business in ways you couldn’t imagine.
2. Build Confidence
Can I share something with you? Everybody feels like a fraud and nobody thinks they are good enough –– at least some of the time.
I certainly suffer from this, and the conversations I’ve had with my freelancer support network and clients has shown me I’m not alone here.
But I also know that it’s not true. It’s just some story we tell ourselves to keep us unhappy and limited for whatever reason.
Nothing will replace the soul work we all have to do to build confidence… but I have to say having a professional photoshoot can help. A good photographer shows you just how fabulous you really are. You will look as accomplished, joyous, and as professional as all those people you aspire to.
Building confidence is one of the unexpected byproducts of a photoshoot, but I can’t tell you how powerful it can be to see yourself in all your glory from an outsider’s perspective to keep those demons at bay.
3. Bring in More Clients
I know it’s a clichė but sometimes (although, NOT always) you have to spend money to make money. A professional photoshoot makes you look like the professional you are, making other people want to work with you.
It’s no secret that, for better or for worse, we live in an image-centric era. We make snap judgments based on physical appearance, and no doubt, social media has exacerbated this.
Before somebody chooses to work with you, they will check out your website and your socials. And they won’t look hard. They’ll skim through mainly judging your visual aesthetics. Then they will decide whether to reach out or not. So, it sort of doesn’t matter if you are über skilled or the perfect fit, if you don’t LOOK the part.
A professional photoshoot takes care of this. It’s the first hurdle to getting you the work you deserve. I know you are so much more than the image you project, but no matter what way you look at it, it’s essential. And I can help capture all your skills, your winning personality, and business integrity in that single image.
