How to Use Your Brand Photos in Video Content

How to Use Your Brand Photos in Video Content
by Elle Narbrook

Whether you love using video or kind of loathe that it feels like you need to use it, there are ways that you can use your static brand photos in video content. Maybe you want to create video content for Instagram Reels or TikTok or something else entirely. Allow your brand photos to keep working hard for you in your video content. Let me walk you through some of the different ways that you can do this.

Use as Cover Photo

With Instagram Reels, you can actually upload a cover photo from your camera roll rather than using a still from the reel. Then, you can reposition that photo and see how it will look on your grid. It’s a perfect opportunity to use those professional brand photos to keep your grid looking amazing.

Click “Add from Camera Roll” and then adjust the crop under “Profile Grid” for your grid look.

Use as Slides

Using your brand photos as slides within the video itself is another great way to get more use out of your professional photos. Take for example, dog photographer Rowan Williams of Pooch and Pineapple. She uses her images as slides in her reels to showcase her work. If you have product images, you can easily create a reel or TikTok featuring images of your products.

To Promote Your Podcast

A couple of my clients have used their brand images to promote new episodes of their podcast in Instagram Posts. They use the image and overlay a section of the podcast audio overtop to create a short, sweet, and effective video. Check out these two examples:

Background to Moving Text

A beautiful way to use your brand photos is as a background image to moving text. Lemon and Birch on Instagram does this beautifully with her handwritten animations. Of course, you can use a tool like Canva to create something similar.
