Yoga Quota is a registered charity (no. 1161833) working to spread yoga to vulnerable groups. Often times the people who need yoga the most are unable to access it. Yoga classes are expensive and commonly not taught in an inclusive or adapted manner. Yoga Quota saw this as a problem and that’s why they work to make yoga accessible to all. It’s quota system means that for every 50 people that attend their Oxford Studio, they can run one free charity class for vulnerable groups. At their studio in Oxford, they teach everything from restorative & meditation to power flow, yin to vinyasa, pregnancy and beginners. All of their classes have a strong emphasis on accessibility and approachability, and they aim to make everyone feel welcome. They also run a 200 hour yoga teacher training, and pregnancy & post-natal yoga teacher training.
I work for Yoga Quota part-time as a marketing assistant, but also had the honour to photograph some of their teachers. They’re all super friendly and even though we were working under a tight schedule, they had such a light hearted attitude making the atmosphere and vibe of the whole day really enjoyable and fun. I can’t wait to get back to their studio with their teachers in front of my lens again. We have such awesome plans for the future. xx
The photographs are stunning! Elle really captured our brand and personality, and each teacher shines through in their own unique way as well. It was great working with her, she was communicative and really listened to what we were about. After talking with Elle, I knew that she “got” Yoga Quota, and I had no hesitation in asking Elle to come and photograph us.
